Scent me away with Maison Francis Kurkdjian …

As a true lover of rare scents, I was delighted to discover something ‘new’.

Two months ago, I paid a visit to Antwerp’s newest addition, Graanmarkt 13. I think this one takes ‘shop’ to a whole other level, because it gives you the feeling you enter a private home with a beautiful interior. Brands are picked out by art director Bob Verhelst, who happens to have an impeccable taste.

It was there that I noticed the fragrances by Maison Francis Kurkdjian. At the age of 15, Francis became a perfumer, and when he reached the age of 25, he already created ‘ Le Male’ for Jean Paul Gaultier. In september of 2009, he opened the ‘Maison Francis Kurkdjian’ in Paris.

They offer a lot of products, and boy, are we happy with that! Colognes, Eau de Parfums, Eau de Toilettes, scented candles, bracelets, fabric softener, paper, … One that did caught my eye, and surprised me a little bit, were the ‘Bulles d’Agathe’. Yes, indeed, blow some scented bubbles, will ya? Choose from ‘cut grass’, ‘pear’ or ‘cold mint’.

Scents are suitable for both men and women, and are available as a cologne ( ‘Le Matin’ & ‘Le Soir’) or an Eau de Toilette / Eau de Parfum ( Aqua Universalis, APOM and Lumière Noire). APOM stands for ‘A Piece Of Me’ and describes ‘A bit of oneself that one leaves on others’. Beautiful, isn’t it? Derived from Lebanon, as it involves the movements of people, colors, flavours and scents.

Francis Kurkdjian his frangrances include ingredients such as cedar wood, ylang ylang, spiced rose, patchouli, amber, bergamote and musky wood.
